Mode of Action

Touchdown Total contains a higher concentration formulation of glyphosate, with 500 g/L acid equivalent of glyphosate present as a potassium salt.

More glyphosate on the leaf
The unique delivery system of Touchdown Total helps the glyphosate stick to the leaf by wetting the leaf's surface and penetrating the leaf cuticle.

Better absorption
The corn-based adjuvant system of Touchdown Total is designed to maximize the glyphosate going into the plant without damaging the epidermal cells of the leaf, resulting in better translocation of the herbicide to the growing points in the weed. This contrasts with the adjuvants used in other glyphosate brands that damage the epidermal cells. The plant cells of a leaf treated with Touchdown Total allow better delivery of the glyphosate into the weed.

Excellent translocation
The unique delivery system speeds translocation to the roots and all growing points in the weed. This results in the active concentration of Touchdown Total throughout the weed.
