Note: Some naturally occurring triazine tolerant biotypes of the above listed broadleaf weeds may not be controlled by atrazine alone.

Application Information

Use Rates

When applied with a tank mix partner, use AAtrex Liquid 480 at 0.235 - 1.25 L/acre.

The 0.235 L/acre rate is for tank mixes with Callisto (late post emergence at 3- to 8-leaf) and with Halex GT (only on glyphosate-tolerant corn).

For other tank mixes (consult the label for full application details) use 0.85-1.25 L/acre on light & sandy soils (use the higher rate for heavy weed infestations) and use 1.25 L/acre on loam and clay soil.

Application Information

AAtrex Liquid 480 can be applied:

  • Pre-plant incorporated (PPI)
  • Pre-emergence
  • Post-emergence...

...in either conventional tillage or minimum tillage programs.

  • Do not apply AAtrex by air.
  • A firm, level seedbed free from large clumps and surface trash must be prepared to ensure uniform weed control. Do not use AAtrex Liquid 480 on loose and rough seedbeds.
  • Do not graze treated immature crops (in the case of corn, this means before ear emergence) or cut for fodder.

Mixing Order

  1. Spray equipment should be thoroughly flushed with clean water before mixing AAtrex.
  2. Fill spray tank 1/2 full with carrier. Engage gentle agitation.
  3. Pour in the required amount of wettable powder or wettable granule, if applicable.
  4. Fill tank 3/4 full and add the AAtrex and other liquid products, if applicable.
  5. Fill tank 9/10 full and add emulsifiable concentrate, liquid solutions or emulsifiable oils, as required. If adding emulsifiable oils, avoid excessive agitation to prevent mixture from forming a grease-like mass and settling out.
  6. Finish filling tank. Maintain gentle agitation during mixing and spraying operations.
  7. Do not let stand without agitation.
  8. When using a mixture of AAtrex and emulsifiable oil, clean tank immediately after use with a strong detergent and clean water.
    • Spray pressure 200 - 300 kPa
    • Spray volume - minimum 150 litres per hectare
    • Use 16-mesh suction screen. 50 mesh screens elsewhere on sprayer.

Effects of Weather

Best performance is achieved when rainfall is received within 10 days of application.

When extended periods of dry weather occur during the year of treatment, there can be some injury to succeeding crops such as white beans, onions, peas, tomatoes and turnips.

Dual II Magnum® for yellow nutsedge, annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. (AAtrex at 0.85 - 1.25 L/acre based on soil type)

Pre-emergence:
Dual II Magnum  (AAtrex at 0.85 - 1.25 L/acre based on soil type)
Dual II Magnum + Callisto (pre - up to 2-leaf)  (AAtrex at 0.85 - 1.25 L/acre based on soil type)

Mode of Action

The primary mode of action of AAtrex is to inhibit photosynthesis. AAtrex is actively absorbed by roots and foliage. It is translocated to the top of the plant and accumulates in the leaf margins and the growing points. By blocking photosynthesis, the growth of intact weeds is inhibited.

Adding AAtrex to a tank mix can boost performance by adding a second mode of action. As a result, the weed is attacked at another site resulting in more effective control.

AAtrex 480 is a Group 5 herbicide.
