About this Product

Aprovia™ Top fungicide combines the proven, trustworthy power of difenoconazole, with a potent, longer-lasting SDHI, Solatenol®, offering potato growers a new tool for early blight control and brown spot suppression. After plants have gotten off to a good start, Aprovia Top prevents early blight from establishing to help keep potato crops greener longer.

Also registered in apples, Aprovia Top can provide excellent control of apple scab. See label for a complete list of diseases controlled, including powdery mildew.

Application Information

Use Rates

Potatoes:

  • Early blight and brown spot*: 260-391 mL/ac (643-967 mL/ha)
    • At the high rate, 1 case treats 40 acres

Apples:

  • Apple scab: 156-260 mL/ac (386-643 mL/ha)
  • Powdery mildew, Alternaria blotch, cedar apple rust, quince rust, Brooks fly spot, sooty blotch, fly speck: 260 mL/ac (643 mL/ha)

Water Volume

For potatoes:
Ground: Apply in a minimum of 150 L of water per hectare.
Air: Apply in a minimum of 45 L of water per hectare unless otherwise specified on the label.

For apples:
Ground only: Apply in a minimum of 375 L of water per hectare 

Application Method

Ground

Application Information

Potatoes:

  • Begin applications prior to disease development and continue throughout the season on a 7-14 day interval.
  • If disease pressure is high, use the highest rate and shortest interval.

Apples:

  • Targeting apple scab: Apply every 7-10 days starting at 6-13 mm green tip or when environmental conditions are conducive for scab. If disease pressure is high, use the high rate. Continue through petal fall until the threat of primary scab is complete.
  • Targeting all other diseases: Begin applications preventively.

Mixing Order

  1. Add ½- 2/3 of the required amount of water to the spray or mixing tank.
  2. With the agitator running, add Aprovia Top to the tank.
  3. Continue agitation while adding the remainder of the water.
  4. Begin application of the spray solution after Aprovia Top has completely dispersed into the mix water.
  5. Maintain agitation until all of the mixture has been sprayed.

Effects of Weather

Avoid application when heavy rain is forecast. 

Use Restrictions

  • Do not make more than two consecutive applications before switching to non-Group 7 and non-Group 3 fungicides.
  • See label for rotational crop restrictions.
  • Applications in potatoes must be made by one method (ground or air) in the same calendar year. Do not make more than four applications by ground, or two applications by air. For potatoes, if applications are made by one method (ground or air) all consecutive applications must be made by the same method – it is not acceptable to mix aerial and ground applications in the same calendar year.
  • If a product containing Solatenol was applied in-furrow, do not apply more than one foliar application of Aprovia Top on potato crops per season (at the typical use rate). Do not apply more than 2.57 L ha/season of Aprovia Top.
