About this Product

Post-harvest protection.

Scholar® 230SC fungicide protects your crop so that you can deliver quality fruit to your customers year after year. Trust Scholar to protect apples, pears, cherries and stone fruits from post-harvest diseases immediately before storage.

Pre-strawing protection in ginseng.

Scholar is registered for end-of-season application prior to strawing for control of Rhizoctonia root rot, Alternaria blight and Botrytis blight, and suppression of Cylindrocarpon root rot.

Application Information

Use Rates

  • Drench: Mix 496 mL of Scholar in 378 L of water.
  • Dip: Mix 496 mL of Scholar in 378 L of water. Dip for 30 seconds and allow fruit to drain.
  • Ginseng: 0.24-0.49 L/ac in minimum 80 L/ac of water.

Post-harvest

Application Information

  • Use as a post-harvest dip and drench immediately before the storage of fruit:
    • Pome fruit: Can treat up to 90,000 kg of fruit. Do not make more than one post-harvest application. Treated fruit should not be stored in direct sunlight.
    • Plums: Scholar 230SC is intended for use on plums meant for direct consumption; should not be used on plums intended for processing into prunes.
    • Cherries: Can treat up to 11,500 kg of fruit. Do not make more than one post-harvest application. Treated fruit should not be stored in direct sunlight.
    • Carrots: Can treat up to 90,000 kg of carrots. Do not make more than one post-harvest application. Treated fruit should not be stored in direct sunlight.
  • Ginseng: Use as a pre-strawing application:
    • Apply 0.24-0.49 L/ac of Scholar in a minimum of 80 L/ac of water to gardens at the end of season prior to strawing.

Resistance Management

For resistance management, Scholar 230SC contains a Group 12 Fungicide. Any fungal population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Scholar 230SC and other Group 12 fungicides. A gradual or total loss of pest control may occur over time if these fungicides are used repeatedly in the same fields. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action but specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance management strategies should be followed.
