About this Product

Xpress your control

Voliam Xpress® insecticide controls lepidopteran as well as chewing and sucking insect pests that attack your crop, including uses in corn, pulses and canola. It contains lambda-cyhalothrin and chlorantraniliprole (Group 3 and Group 28 insecticides) to deliver fast knockdown of pests followed by residual control. The dual modes of action in Voliam Xpress effectively control all lifecycles of pests in a field.

Product Benefits

  • Broader and more effective performance than single active insecticides
  • Reduce complexity with two actives in one convenient pre-mix
  • Controls eggs, larvae and adult moths through contact and ingestion
  • Provides fast knockdown and residual activity
  • Effective resistance management

Each case contains 4 x 3.78 L jugs

Application Information

Foliar-applied Voliam Xpress goes to work quickly to stop insects from feeding. Two powerful active ingredients provide contact, ingestion and ovi-larvicidal activity. The best time to apply Voliam Xpress is when insect pest populations begin to build, but before they reach economically damaging levels. See information below for key pest scouting guidelines.

OMAFRA Scouting Guidelines, Pub 812:

Corn earworm

  • Monitor populations using pheromone traps. Initial applications should be made when silks first appear. Protection of silks is critical for corn earworm control.
  • Spray intervals should be based on number of moths caught and temperature.1
  • Make first application when tassels are visible in the whorl. Make a subsequent application 7-14 days later as necessary. Rotate with insecticides with modes of action other than Group 3 or 28 if possible.

European corn borer

  • Begin monitoring mid-whorl stage.
  • Presence of eggs indicate an application is necessary.
  • Make first application when tassels are visible in the whorl. Make a subsequent application 7-14 days later as necessary. Rotate with insecticides with modes of action other than Group 3 or 28 if possible.

Western bean cutworm

  • Scout corn fields at pre-tassel to early tassel emergence. Look for the egg masses on the top 2-3 leaves on the upper side of the leaf. Scout 10 plants in a row in 10 areas of a field. Freshly laid egg masses take 4-5 days to hatch and turn from white to purple as they mature.
  • If 5% of the plants scouted have egg masses, an application is recommended.
  • Make an application just after egg hatch (50% hatch) as the larvae feed at the whorl/tassel for a few days and then enter the developing ear.

Mixing Order

  1. Ensure that the sprayer interior is clean, then fill the spray tank with ½ the required amount of water and engage gentle agitation. Good agitation is indicated by a rippling or rolling action on the surface of the water.
  2. Add any WG or DF formulation mix partners and agitate to ensure complete mixing.
  3. Add Voliam Xpress (SC) and agitate to ensure complete mixing.
  4. Add any additional SC formulation mix partners and agitate to ensure complete mixing.
  5. Add any EC formulation mix partners and agitate to ensure complete mixing.
  6. Fill the tank to ¾ the required amount of water.
  7. Add any solution (SN or SL) formulation mix partners and agitate to ensure complete mixing.
  8. Finish filling the sprayer with water, maintaining good agitation.
  9. After any break in spraying operations, agitate thoroughly before spraying again.
  10. Spray the pesticide suspension the same day as mixing.
  11. Do not mix, load or clean spray equipment where there is a potential to contaminate wells or aquatic systems.
