We’ve developed a new naming convention for traited NK® soybeans coming for the 2022 growing season and beyond. To help you understand what’s in a name, consider this example:

NK®07-A7E3
All traited NK soybean varieties launching for the 2022 growing season will feature the “NK” text associated with the variety name. This standardized approach will apply to all future traited soybean varieties introduced to the NK portfolio.Indicates maturity group and relative maturity (RM) within the group, on a scale from 0-9 (0 = early; 9 = late).
Randomly designated letter and number used to differentiate between varieties with the same RM.

Indicates herbicide technology:

E3 = Enlist E3™

X = Roundup Ready 2 Xtend®

Randomly designated letter and number = Roundup Ready 2 Yield®

So, by studying the name, you learn that NK®07-A7E3 is an earlier maturity variety with Enlist E3™ herbicide technology that makes this soybean tolerant to 2,4-D choline (Group 4), glyphosate (Group 9) and glufosinate (Group 10).

This naming convention will not be retroactively applied to existing varieties in the NK soybean portfolio.

What about conventional soybeans?

Conventional soybean varieties will continue to be indicated with an “S.” These variety names also convey important information about the bean.

For example, from the variety name S03-P4, you learn:

S03-P4

All conventional NK soybean varieties feature the “S” text associated with the variety name.

This standardized approach will continue to apply to all future conventional soybean varieties introduced to the NK portfolio.

Indicates maturity group and relative maturity (RM) within the group, on a scale from 0-9 (0 = early; 9 = late).
Randomly designated letter and number used to differentiate between varieties with the same RM.
