When implementing your early season fungicide program this year, consider Allegro® and Aprovia®.

Allegro logo

In 2022, Allegro fungicide was registered as a new tool for early season control of dead arm (Phomopsis) and suppression of anthracnose.

Allegro specializes in hard-to-control diseases and offers important features and benefits, including:

  • Low risk for resistance with unique Group 29 chemistry
  • Contact activity, like many fungicides historically used for early season disease management, but with the added ability to stop spore germination
  • The flexibility to maximize use of Group 3, 7, and 11 fungicides for Botrytis and powdery mildew

Apply Allegro at 1.0-1.2 L/ha, depending on the target disease. Tank mixing with sulphur has not been tested in Canada. Read more on the label.

Hear Ontario Horticulture Specialist Eric Phillips talk about why growers consider Allegro as part of their program.

When Allegro is paired with a powdery mildew product such as Aprovia® fungicide, you can be confident your vineyard is protected from early season diseases.

Aprovia® contains Solatenol® technology and is your pre-bloom fungicide for powdery mildew. Aprovia® spreads by translaminar movement within the leaf for long-lasting protection from the inside out. For a refresh on translaminar movement, view this Syngenta video on YouTube.

Apply Aprovia® at 0.5-0.75 L/ha, using the higher rate when conditions are more conducive to disease. Read more on the label.

As an alternative to Aprovia®, Solatenol® technology is also available in Aprovia® Top fungicide, a pre-mix with the proven partner difenoconazole. Apply Aprovia® Top at 0.643 L/ha.
