NK continues to invest in significant advancements to strengthen our portfolio and better support the success of all our growers. Our soybeans are developed from the industry’s largest and most diverse germplasm pool, offering a sizeable selection for abroad range of growing conditions. Our R&D investment has doubled the size of our experimental class and increased our field data points by 40% in the last two years.

In Eastern Canada alone in 2023 we have 23 trialing sites where we’ll test thousands of conventional and traited varieties in early to late-stage development. To give you a sense of scale, just one of our larger trialing sites north of London, Ontario contains around 11,000 separate lines!

A big part of our approach to breeding is a focus on top-performing disease tolerance genetics. In Eastern Canada specifically, we know that Phytophthora, white mold and sudden death syndrome are major threats to your yield potential along with key diseases like stem blight and soybean cyst nematode.

Our local pre-commercial testing over multi-years is advancing new soybean varieties to the NK commercial line up every year.  In 2023, that includes 11 new NK soybean varieties across a variety of herbicide trait platforms in including Roundup Ready 2 Xtend®, XtendFlex® and Enlist™ E3 soybeans.

Here are 6 NK soybean varieties we are particularly excited about for eastern Canada in 2023. Varieties you may already be growing or will want to include in you plans as you prepare for the 2024 season include:

Once famers try this variety, they will continue include it on their farm in future years.

S22-A2E3 – Another new next generation Enlist™ E3 soybean with impressive yield results. This 3025 CHU variety has excellent standability with strong performance across yield environments.
