A new seed- and soil-borne disease solution for your soybeans
April 6, 2022
Soybean seed is a major investment and you need to be confident your crop will emerge strong and realize its genetic potential – even under heavy disease pressure.
No matter where you grow, soils contain varying levels of Pythium, Rhizoctonia, Phytophthora and Fusarium pathogens. In fact, a 2020 Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers root rot survey found 100 percent of the soybeans surveyed were impacted by root rot complex.
An effective soybean seed treatment gives your crop the best chance for strong stand establishment, no matter what disease pressure the spring might bring.
No stand, no yield
New Vayantis® IV fungicide seed treatment contains four high-performing active ingredients: sedaxane, metalaxyl-M with S-isomer, fludioxonil and picarbutrazox – a completely new mode of action. Together, these actives provide broad-spectrum protection from:
- Phytophthora megasperma var. sojae causing early season root rot;
- Rhizoctonia spp. causing seed rot/pre-emergence damping-off, post-emergence damping-off and seedling blight;
- Pythium spp. causing seed rot/pre-emergence damping-off, post-emergence damping-off and seedling blight;
- Fusarium spp. causing seed rot/pre-emergence damping-off, post-emergence seedling blight and seedling root rot; and
- Seed-borne Phomopsis spp. causing seed rot and seedling blight
In research trials, soybeans treated with Vayantis IV displayed faster emergence, improved stands and better root growth under heavy Phytophthora pressure than soybeans treated with Vibrance® Maxx RFC seed treatment.

Next-level performance
Vayantis IV has your soybeans covered against all known Phytophthora pathotypes in Canada and delivers superior protection compared to other options on the market.

Source: Research by Dr. Richard Belanger, University of Laval, QC, 2021. Three inoculum plugs of 7 mm diameter from a growing colony of Phytophthora sojae were inoculated on each plate. Syngenta does not recommend planting in fields with these infection levels. N = 3.
When used in tandem with field tolerance and Rps genes, Vayantis IV can help you give your soybeans excellent overlapping protection against early Phytophthora root rot.

Performance evaluations are based on internal trials, field observations and/or public information. Data from multiple locations and years should be consulted whenever possible. Individual results may vary depending on local growing, soil and weather conditions.
Always read and follow label directions. Vayantis IV is an on-seed application of Vayantis fungicide seed treatment and Vibrance Trio fungicide seed treatment. Apron XL
