Energy Weakness Pressures Canola

Canola futures closed lower as falling crude oil and weaker soybean oil weighed on the vegetable oil complex. A firmer Canadian dollar added pressure despite stronger corn and soybean markets.

November 2026 canola fell $8.30 to C$782.90 per tonne after trading between C$780.80 and C$793.40. January 2027 lost $7.50 to close at C$792.20.

Canadian crush demand remains supportive and continues to run ahead of last year, while exports lag. Prairie weather and the direction of energy markets will determine whether current price support holds.
