ICE Close: Canola Falters for Second Day

Canola futures ended lower for the second straight day on Wednesday.

Chicago soybeans started higher on the day but eventually turned lower, while soyoil futures trimmed gains into the close.

Wet conditions continue to improve soil moisture across the Prairies but are also delaying spring seeding in places. Tuesday’s Manitoba crop report showed planting in the province at 30% complete, 1 point ahead of the five-year average. Canola was reported at 6% done.

July canola fell $6 to $649.30, and November lost $4.50 to $669.30.
