ICE Close: Canola Up, Extending Previous Day's Gain

Canola futures closed with modest gains on Friday, extending the previous day's rebound after seven straight days of losses.

Strength in crude oil prices provided underlying support, with higher energy values helping lift Chicago soybean oil, European rapeseed and Malaysian palm oil. Gains in soybeans also contributed to the strength in canola.

The upside was limited by a strengthening Canadian dollar, which climbed to a five-week high against its U.S. counterpart, partly due to ideas the Bank of Canada will raise interest rates next week.

January was up $1.30 at $792.60, and November 2027 added $2.20 to $784.60.
