Wheat futures were lower on Monday, although this had nothing to do with the development of this year’s crop in the US. The market continues to adjust to the return of Ukrainian grain to world markets. The first ship (full of corn) left the port of Odesa today and more will follow. The Sept Chicago wheat futures moved modestly lower on the news, ending down 7 1/2 cents at US$8.00 1/4.
