Agrisure Corn Traits

Syngenta corn and soybean seed products are developed using our Yield Engineering System. The system finds its foundation in genetic diversity and integrated technologies, such as the Agrisure trait packages. As the industry leader in the number of new traits launched over a five-year period, we dramatically increased the speed at which our new traits are integrated into our product portfolio through accelerated trait conversion.

The following are the featured corn traits available to growers in Canada:

As the first vegetative insecticidal protein in corn, the Agrisure Viptera® trait is a testament to the industry-leading agronomic expertise and commitment to cutting-edge research and development that helps Syngenta consistently deliver innovative solutions to help farmers grow the best crop.

With Chinese import approval, farmers have access to this market for both corn grain and processing byproducts like dried distillers grain (DDGs).

This trait stack provides excellent control of above-ground insects for areas where corn rootworm management is not a primary concern. Hybrids with this trait stack are tolerant to glyphosate and glufosinate.

This trait stack provides protection against 14 yield-robbing insects including corn borer, corn rootworm, fall armyworm, Western bean cutworm and black cutworm. Hybrids with this trait stack are tolerant to glyphosate and glufosinate.

This trait stack provides unsurpassed control of broad lepidopteran pests and corn borer with two modes of action and integrated E-Z refuge for breakthrough above-ground insect control and automatic refuge compliance.

Agrisure Artesian™ technology maximizes yield when it rains and increases yield up to 15% when it doesn’t. Since hybrids with Agrisure Artesian technology contain scientifically selected genes for water optimization, the performance of these hybrids raises the bar for drought tolerance ratings versus standard hybrids. Agrisure Artesian technology is available with many of the other Syngenta traits and trait stacks.

This integrated, single-bag refuge trait stack offers two modes of action against corn borer and corn rootworm.

Available with many of our trait offerings, Agrisure E-Z Refuge offers a 5% blended refuge in the bag. E-Z Refuge offers the simplicity and convenience of automatic refuge compliance, enabling growers to meet the refuge requirements specified by the CFIA for managing insect resistance.

Hybrids containing the Agrisure GT trait are tolerant to glyphosate. These hybrids are excellent choices for refuge acres required with all traits that do not contain Agrisure E-Z Refuge.

A triple stack, Agrisure 3000GT provides glyphosate and glufosinate tolerance while protecting corn from corn borer and corn rootworm.

Hybrids containing Agrisure 3010 feature season-long protection from European corn borer as well as herbicide flexibility with both glyphosate and glufosinate tolerance.

Before opening a bag of seed, be sure to read and understand the stewardship requirements, including applicable refuge requirements when planting insect protected traits as set forth in the Syngenta stewardship/technology agreement that you sign. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with those stewardship requirements.
