Syngenta Canada Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of Fortenza® Advanced insecticide seed treatment for advanced control of striped and crucifer flea beetles, and control of cutworms in canola.
Fortenza Advanced contains two proven insecticides: sulfoxaflor (Group 4A) and cyantraniliprole (Group 28). Combining these active ingredients provides producers, retailers, and seed companies with one simple solution for additional protection from three devastating early-season insects in canola.
“Feeding by flea beetles and cutworms can result in uneven emergence, thin plant stands, delayed crop development and uneven maturity, leading to lower yield potential. Feeding sites can also act as entry points for disease-causing pathogens, further threatening canola yields,” says Karen Ullman, Seedcare and Inoculant Product Lead for Syngenta Canada.
Fortenza Advanced helps producers get the most out of their seed investment, protecting the canola crop from early season pests so it can realize its full genetic potential.
“Fortenza Advanced gives canola producers peace of mind with industry-leading flea beetle protection, and can help reduce the likelihood a farmer will have to spray a foliar insecticide early in the season,” Ullman says.
Paired with a foundation Seedcare™ treatment such as Helix® Vibrance®, Fortenza Advanced gives producers the added benefit of a second and third seed applied insecticide for unparalleled protection from flea beetles, in addition to four fungicides for control of seed-borne Alternaria, blackleg, and seedling disease complex caused by Pythium, Fusarium, and Rhizoctonia spp.
Fortenza Advanced will be available on commercially treated canola seed for the 2020 growing season.
