- Syngenta renews partnership with Manitoba-based curling Team Lawes, skipped by two-time Olympic gold medalist Kaitlyn Lawes.
- The partnership supports the Syngenta Zero Hunger Challenge campaign addressing rural food insecurity in Canada.
Syngenta Canada is excited to continue its support of Manitoba-based curling Team Lawes, skipped by two-time Olympic gold medalist Kaitlyn Lawes.
Lawes, along with teammates Selena Njegovan, Jocelyn Peterman and Kristin MacCuish have their sights on the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Women’s World Curling Championships, as well as the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
“At Syngenta, we understand that to achieve these goals requires the right combination of innovation, dedication, and unwavering commitment. What we love about supporting Team Lawes goes beyond their talent – it’s our shared connection to rural communities across Canada. Curling is deeply woven into the fabric of many towns – it's where neighbours come together, where values like teamwork and perseverance are celebrated,” says Danielle Miller, Syngenta Customer Marketing Lead, based out of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. “That's the spirit Team Lawes brings to their game. Just like our farmer customers, they know what it takes to perform when it counts, and they understand the importance of strong communities.”
A champion in sport and community
Beyond the rink, the Syngenta and Team Lawes partnership will help shine a spotlight on food insecurity in Canada's rural communities through the company's multi-year Zero Hunger Challenge campaign, which tackles rural hunger across the country.
Since launching this charitable initiative in 2023, the Syngenta Zero Hunger Challenge has facilitated donations of nearly $300,000, equaling more than 380,000 meals to benefit food banks across the country.
“We are so grateful and proud to be partners with Syngenta for the upcoming curling season, says Lawes. “We are chasing some big curling goals which would not be possible without this partnership. Syngenta is helping us strive for excellence on and off the ice. We are also proud to support the Zero Hunger Challenge campaign and hope we can help tackle rural hunger across the country and the communities we visit.”
