Chickpea supplies tight despite large Australian forecast

Australia produced a staggering 2.35 million tonnes of the crop last year, up from 513,000 tonnes the previous year, according to AgPulse Analytica. The firm is forecasting another whopper crop of 2.32 million tonnes in 2025-26, although it could climb as high as 2.7 million tonnes if September weather co-operates, delegates attending the Global Pulse Confederation’s Pulses 2025 conference were told.
