Winnipeg-based Parrish & Heimbecker has expanded its eastern grain operations by acquiring a Quebec City marine export terminal.
In a deal announced Thursday, P&H purchased the terminal from Societe En Commandite Terminal Grains, which has been operated by Sollio Agriculture since 2021. Located in a key eastern shipping corridor, the Quebec City terminal is a “highly efficient facility that will play a critical role in enhancing P&H’s ability to serve its customers from coast to coast,” the company said in a statement.
“The addition of a Quebec City terminal is a strong fit for our long-term growth strategy,” said John Heimbecker, CEO of P&H. “It allows us to offer even more reliable and efficient service to our customers, while optimizing our logistics and supply chain capabilities across the country.”
No financial details were disclosed.
Under P&H’s ownership, the terminal will handle corn, wheat, and soybeans from Ontario and Quebec, as well as wheat from Western Canada, reports said.
With the terminal acquisition, P&H said it has also established a new commercial relationship with QSL International Ltd., a key supply chain player in port terminal operations, stevedoring, marine services, logistics and transport throughout North America.
P&H operations include grain handling and merchandising, flour milling, as well as crop inputs and feed mills. The family-owned agribusiness has over 70 locations from coast to coast, and trade links around the globe
